SFgoL had our annual elections! Our 2013-2014 officers are President – Zed, Vice President – Zabet, Secretary – ava, Treasurer – angel, and Sergeant at Arms – Terra. The two Members at Large are Anne and Theresa. Thank you everyone for stepping up! Much thanks to Kate and Pink who served as officers for the past 3 years!
The past year has been a busy one for SFgoL. We’ve focused on having more of a balance of community service and social activities. Burnout is no good for anyone!
Our SFgoL munch has finally started! It’s the third Tuesday every month at Wicked Grounds from 7pm-9pm, hosted by Ash and Zed. All self-identified girls are welcome!
There is a pre-meeting meet-up every month at Sparky’s before our business meeting (first Thursday of every month at Chase Bank community room) to provide a space for social time before our business meetings. Many girls go out for noms at Super Duper after the meeting as well!
A few highlights of 2013 thus far are:
Happy Hour fundraiser at El Rio, organized by Allison.
Cleaning day at SF Citadel, organized by Terra.
Assisting with and modeling for the RubbermenSF fashion show! Thanks ava for being liaison. So much hotness!
Leather Alliance Meet & Greet and Victory Beer Bust, led by ava.
SFgoL takeover of Rainbow Skate in Redwood City, organized by Zed.
Partnering with International Ms Leather Weekend for promoting IMsL locally and bag stuffing. We received a bronze sponsorship! Thanks to Zed for being liaison again this year.
Co-hosting a hospitality Suite at IMsL – “Champagne and Chocolates” – angel and Zed worked with a few Exiles members to organize this event. Sooo many girls volunteered, and looked fabulous!
TWO kissing/spanking booths at SF Citadel events – with another one planned!
Hosting the Meet and Greet on the opening night of Northwest Leather Celebration, organized by angel again this year, and we’re excited to be bronze sponsors!
Debauchery at the White Horse in Oakland, volunteers coordinated by ava this year.
Co-hosting appetizers at the Bay Area Leather Alliance Progressive Dinner, ava worked with other Leather Alliance Board Directors to organize.
Marching in Leatherwalk 2013, SFgoL contingent organized by Zabet.
Spearheading volunteers for Venus Playground was a huge hit, sooo many girls and great fun for those who made it out. We were a sponsor yet again! Thanks Zabet for being our liaison!
Ushering at the Ms SF Leather Contest, coordinated by Kate.
Congratulatory Reception for our very own treasurer, angel, who won the Women’s International Leather Legacy title. Thanks Pink for organizing, and huge congrats to angel!
Wow! We’ve been hella busy! And I wasn’t even able to list everything!
We continue to work on our non-profit 501c3 status. Paperwork is annoying but will be worth it once it’s done. 😉
None of these things would be possible without the girls who have stepped up to organize events, all the girls who have volunteered and/or attended events, and the community for supporting us! More girls have taken leadership roles, have come out to volunteer, brought new girls, and brought girl pride to our community than I can possibly mention. So much girl-love!!!
